Business Development Manager - Modular Solutions

Haskell leads the industry in Design Manufacture Install (DMI) project delivery, drawing on its large cross-disciplinary design team, extensive experience in manufacturing settings and ability to self-perform a wide range of construction trades. DMI delivery maximizes efficiency by creating replicable modular building components in a controlled manufacturing setting, then shipping them intact to a job site where they are installed and completed similarly to a traditionally (or conventionally) constructed building.
Scope of Position
Responsible for generating business for Haskell in targeted markets and assisting with the division’s marketing initiative. General duties may include conducting research, making initial and follow up contacts, development of qualifications statements and proposals and undertaking other tasks that will lead to new business opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
Conducts appropriate research to identify target companies/organization within industry segments denoted in business unit plan.
Contacts, qualifies, and sets appointments with targets via telephone and electronic means.
Provides targets with appropriate Haskell marketing material and responses to specific interests identified by targets.
Visits qualified targets and/or arranges for personal sales calls by appropriate Haskell personnel.
Prepares qualifications statements and assists in preparing responses to proposals for specific projects.
Develops and maintains relationships with local and national civic, professional and economic organizations that are sources of prospects.
Maintains up-to-date prospect files and electronic databases.
Develops and manages a public relations program.
Represents Haskell at trade shows, conventions and professional meetings.
Takes other steps as directed by the Director of Business Development to assist in securing additional projects
Education/Experience
- Minimum of four years’ experience preferably in a related field, e.g. architecture, engineering, construction, sales and marketing.
- Experience within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry
- Demonstrated experience with modular construction highly preferred
- Proven success in sales, business development, and client prospecting
Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
