TECHNICIAN

You will serve as a Technician in the Fleet Support Branch (WXMY), Maritime Electromagnetic Spectrum Mission Systems Div. (WMX), Electromagnetic Spectrum Warfare Dept. (WX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equal to the GS-13/14. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).


  • You will participate in technical events, engineering investigations, test events, and provide guidance to journeymen on overall system and sub-system operation and maintenance.
  • You will interface and make recommendations with Maritime Electronic Warfare personnel from the In Service Engineering Agency (ISEA), Program Office, ships force, and other government partners.
  • You will oversee and provide technical assistance in the installing of SEWIP Block 2 and 3 upgrades, ensuring systems are installed IAW US Navy specifications, on time, and within budget in addition to supporting in service and testing requirements.
  • You will interface with Maritime Electronic Warfare personnel, IWS2 Program Office Managers, SEA21 and PMR liaisons for production updates from shipyard assigned contractors, and AIT civilian assigned workers.
  • You will develop, review, modify, comment, and make recommendations for selected portions or complete data packages.
  • You will consult with other technicians, project engineers, and contractors to exchange information, coordinate on projects and discuss/resolve complex electronics engineering and administrative problems in support of the SEWIP enterprise.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: testing and evaluating critical electromagnetic warfare systems against documented system requirements to develop and maintain work processes in accordance with command safety and security policies and train the technical workforce on system operation and troubleshooting practices for an organization.
