Data Protection Analyst
Peak Performers has partnered with a managed care organization to assist in their search for a remote Data Protection Analyst. In this contract position, you will be responsible for triaging, investigating, and documenting DLP alerts in accordance with established incident response, privacy, and escalation workflows.
Major duties
- Triages, investigates, and documents DLP alerts in line with incident response, privacy, and escalation workflows.
- Supports root cause analysis and escalation of confirmed data protection incidents to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Identifies opportunities to improve data protection controls, including reducing false positives, within governance and change management processes.
- Generates recurring and ad hoc DLP metrics for operational oversight, risk trending, and management reporting.
- Supports the development and enhancement of data protection controls and processes with the data protection team and business partners.
- Contributes to the configuration, deployment, monitoring, and tuning of DLP solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Supports technical control audits, regulatory reporting, and internal assessments by gathering evidence and maintaining documentation.
- Responds to data protection-related inquiries and supports compliance activities.
- Helps develop and maintain policies, workflows, and standard operating procedures for handling sensitive data, including PHI and PII.
- Supports the creation of training materials and guidance on identifying, securing, and transferring sensitive data for technical and non-technical audiences.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Governance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in data governance, data protection, information security operations, or a related technical domain.
- 2+ years of experience with data classification, data sensitivity, and secure data handling practices.
- 2+ years of experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated data environments.
- 2+ years of experience supporting data protection, privacy, or information governance activities in a regulated, complex environment.
- 2+ years of experience using AI-assisted tools in DLP or security operations, or supporting data protection controls for AI or GenAI use cases within established governance frameworks.
Exciting Opportunity Details
Rate: $42.25/hour
W2 Contract
Worksite Location: Remote
6 month contract with opportunity to convert to full time.
